DEROSSET PRESENTS

Chapter 472 Art & Historian member Richard DeRosset was honored by the Veterans Museum & Memorial recently for his outstanding contribution in making the museum a living and thriving site for his massive detailed murals. Also on display were his works of various scenes that involved military, civilian and other maritime activities at sea.

Each mural has detailed information in a subtle setting that speaks to the viewer through the docent on duty who is in a continual flux of learning and understanding what the artist is depicting. However, on your own, careful study will reveal to you the meaning of this living and breathing work that continually emits stories for you to understand.

In particular the view showing the atomic submarine SKATE, the close proximity of the short flight of the Wright brothers in 1903 to walking on the moon in 1969, a few short years apart.
